Recovery Operation For Lifeboats

April 11, 2023

1. First reset the front and rear hook heads of the life boat, so that the remote decoupling handle can be easily reset. Insert the safety pin, and then easily reset the decoupling safety handle. Insert the safety pin, and when the life boat leaves the water surface, do not forget to check whether the water pressure release interlock safety device is reset. If it is not reset, manually reset it. The above three reset steps should have a relaxed and comfortable feeling. If there is resistance during the reset process, do not force the reset. Check that all steps are normal and try resetting again.

2. Manipulate the mother ship to place the lifeboat on the leeward side, steer the lifeboat under the davit, approach the bow of the lifeboat forward and backward, and bring the bow of the lifeboat in the same direction as the bow of the mother ship.

3. Adjust the lifeboat davit rope to the appropriate height for the hook, and both front and rear crew members should hang the davit hook at the same time (if it is not possible to hook at the same time, the front hook should be hung first)

4. Confirm that the front and rear life boat hooks are securely attached, and under the command of the command personnel, lift the life boat off the water surface. After confirming safety, continue to hoist the life boat (in case of power loss, manually hoist it with a crank).

5. When the reinforcing plate on the upper part of the life boat lifting pulley supports the head of the life boat lifting arm and causes it to turn inward with the life boat to about 300mm before the final position, stop twisting (at this time, the limit switch can be adjusted to work to cut off the power supply), and then use the joystick to rock the arm and boat to their original storage position.

6. Reset and lock the brake lever of the lifting arm on the front and rear life boat frames, and position the front and rear lifting arms.

7. Slowly lift the brake weight of the winch, so that the T-shaped block at the top of the floating pulley at the front and rear of the boat lifting wire falls into the claw groove at the head of the boat lifting arm. The T-shaped block is under force while the boat lifting wire is still under force, to avoid wear or damage to the boat lifting wire during navigation.

8. Tighten the anchor and mooring ropes to ensure that the boat is in the sate of safety and ready to use.
